These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the website sereenijewelry.com. By accessing this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Use of the Website

This website is provided for informational purposes regarding Sereeni's services and custom jewelry offerings. You agree to use the website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe upon the rights of others.

Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including jewelry designs, images, text, logos, and graphics — is the property of Sereeni and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, copy, distribute, modify, or use any content from this website without prior written permission.

Custom Design Concepts

If inspiration images or design references are provided by clients, Sereeni will interpret them as creative inspiration only. All final designs created by Sereeni remain the intellectual property of Sereeni unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Service Information

Information provided on this website regarding custom jewelry design services is intended for general informational purposes. Final design specifications, pricing, materials, gemstones, and production timelines will be agreed upon directly with each client prior to the creation of a custom piece.

Payment

Payment for a bespoke commission is made in three stages. First, a design fee of 3,000 NOK is paid in advance; it covers the initial CAD design plus up to two rounds of revisions, and is non-refundable once the design work has been delivered, whether or not the commission proceeds. Second, a deposit of 50% of the agreed total price is paid on approval of the final design; production begins on receipt of the deposit. Third, the remaining balance is paid on completion of the piece, before shipping. The 3,000 NOK design fee is credited against the total price, not charged in addition to it. For example: on a piece with an agreed price of 100,000 NOK, the client pays 3,000 NOK to begin the design, 50,000 NOK on approving it, and 47,000 NOK on completion.

Right of Withdrawal

Bespoke commissions are made to the client's individual specifications and are exempt from the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under § 22(e) of the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act (angrerettloven). This means that the finished bespoke piece cannot be returned simply because the client has changed their mind. This exemption does not affect the client's right to cancel before delivery under applicable law or the client's rights if the piece is defective or does not match the agreed specification.

Cancellation and Refunds

The client may cancel a bespoke commission before delivery. If cancellation takes place after the design has been approved, materials have been sourced, or production has begun, Sereeni may retain or claim an amount covering the reasonable loss caused by the cancellation. This may include completed design work, gemstones and materials already sourced or committed, workshop costs, non-refundable supplier charges, and other losses recoverable under applicable law. Because gemstones and materials are sourced specifically for each commission and may not be returnable to the supplier, and the finished piece may have limited resale value, the cost of cancellation can be substantial. Any amount paid above Sereeni's recoverable loss will be refunded. If Sereeni cancels a commission for any reason other than the client's breach of these terms, the design fee and deposit are refunded in full.

Defects and Non-Conformity

Every commission is documented in writing before production begins — metal, gemstone, carat weight, setting, dimensions, and finish — alongside the client's approval of the final CAD design. If the delivered piece does not match that written specification, or has a manufacturing defect, Sereeni will correct or remake the piece at no cost. This applies both to defects found during inspection in the workshop and to defects identified by the client after delivery. The client must notify Sereeni within a reasonable time after discovering a possible defect. Natural inclusions, variations in colour or appearance that were disclosed or reasonably visible before purchase, approved design characteristics, normal wear and tear, and reasonable tolerances resulting from hand-finishing are not considered defects. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions, including the cancellation provisions above, limits your statutory rights under the Norwegian Consumer Purchases Act (forbrukerkjøpsloven) or equivalent consumer protection law in your country.

Gemstone Sales

These provisions apply to standalone purchases of loose gemstones and are separate from the Payment and Cancellation and Refunds provisions above, which govern bespoke commissions. Availability. A loose gemstone may be purchased standalone by private buyers in the United States, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman. Business buyers may purchase from any jurisdiction without territorial restriction; a business purchase requires the company name and registration number (and VAT or organisation number where applicable) on the invoice and must be made for business purposes. Private buyers in all other markets — including the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — may select a gemstone as part of a bespoke commission, in which case the stone is set into a piece made to the client's specification and the commission terms above apply. All loose gemstone sales are final. Payment completes the sale: the stone is sourced and secured against the client's purchase and payment is committed to the supplier. There are no returns, refunds, or exchanges on a loose gemstone. The preceding paragraph concerns change of mind and does not affect the client's statutory rights where a stone is not as described — including where it does not match the certification, stated carat weight, or identity represented at the point of sale. Any certification or laboratory report supplied with a stone forms part of what was sold.
