Design Consultation

The custom design process begins with a consultation. Clients may share ideas, inspiration images, gemstone preferences, or design concepts. Based on this discussion, Sereeni will develop a design proposal tailored to the client's vision. All custom projects are handled individually, and timelines may vary depending on the complexity of the design and gemstone availability.

Design Interpretation

Inspiration images provided by clients are used as creative references only. Sereeni interprets each concept through its own design approach to create an original piece. All final designs created by Sereeni remain the intellectual property of Sereeni unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Gemstones

Sereeni specialises in natural coloured gemstones. Gemstone availability may vary, and each stone is unique in colour, tone, and natural characteristics — these variations are part of what makes each piece one of a kind. Where applicable, gemstone options will be presented and discussed before finalising the design. Where a gemstone is chosen as part of a commission, it is supplied as part of that commission and delivered under the commission terms — it is not a standalone gemstone sale. Standalone loose gemstone purchases are governed separately by the Gemstone Sales section of our Terms & Conditions.

Client-Supplied Gemstones & Existing Jewelry

Clients are welcome to provide their own gemstones or existing jewelry for use in a custom commission. All client-supplied materials are assessed before being accepted to ensure they are suitable for the intended design and production process. Gemstones will be assessed for their condition and suitability for use in the intended design. As client-supplied gemstones may have an unknown history, existing damage, treatments, or vulnerabilities will be taken into consideration before work begins. Gold and other precious metals from existing jewelry are assessed individually. Direct reuse of the original metal may not always be technically suitable depending on its composition, condition, and the requirements of the new design. Where possible, we will discuss the available options for preserving or incorporating the material into the new piece. While every reasonable care is taken, Sereeni cannot accept liability for damage to client-supplied gemstones or metals arising from pre-existing condition, treatments, or vulnerabilities that were not apparent at assessment. Our assessment is advisory and is not a guarantee of a stone's condition or durability. Any additional costs associated with assessment, insured transportation, additional materials, or specialist work will be communicated and agreed upon before proceeding.

Production Timeline

Once the design and materials are confirmed, production will begin. Production normally takes 4–10 weeks from design confirmation. This is an estimate, and it may extend for complex commissions or in the event of delivery delays — the expected timeline is always communicated before the project proceeds.

Changes and Adjustments

The initial design plus up to two rounds of revisions are included, allowing the concept to be refined before production begins. Once production has begun, significant design changes may not be possible. Additional revisions beyond the included rounds may involve an extra cost, which is always discussed in advance.

Payment, Cancellation and Refunds

Payment for a commission is made in three stages: a 3,000 NOK design fee paid in advance (covering the initial CAD design plus up to two rounds of revisions, non-refundable once the design work has been delivered), a deposit of 50% of the agreed total price paid on approval of the final design, and the balance on completion, before shipping. The design fee is credited against the total price, not charged on top — on a 100,000 NOK piece, the client pays 3,000 NOK, then 50,000 NOK, then 47,000 NOK. Because bespoke commissions are made to the client's individual specifications, the finished piece is exempt from the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under § 22(e) of the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act (angrerettloven). This means that the finished bespoke piece cannot be returned simply because the client has changed their mind. The client may cancel a bespoke commission before delivery. If cancellation takes place after the design has been approved, materials have been sourced, or production has begun, Sereeni may retain or claim an amount covering the reasonable loss caused by the cancellation. This may include completed design work, gemstones and materials already sourced or committed, workshop costs, non-refundable supplier charges, and other losses recoverable under applicable law. Because gemstones and materials are sourced specifically for each commission and may not be returnable to the supplier, and the finished piece may have limited resale value, the cost of cancellation can be substantial. Any amount paid above Sereeni's recoverable loss will be refunded. If Sereeni cancels a commission for any reason other than the client's breach, the design fee and deposit are refunded in full. Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights under the Norwegian Consumer Purchases Act (forbrukerkjøpsloven) or equivalent consumer law in your country.

Aftercare, Repairs & Craftsmanship

At Sereeni, we stand behind the quality of our craftsmanship. We offer support after your piece is completed, including resizing, repairs, and maintenance services where applicable. Each case is assessed individually. Natural wear, accidental damage, improper use, or third-party modifications are not considered craftsmanship faults. Services for natural wear, accidental damage, or client-requested alterations may be subject to evaluation and associated fees. This does not apply to manufacturing defects or deviations from the agreed written specification, which will be corrected or remade at no cost, as appropriate. For full details, please refer to our Terms & Conditions.
